Sugar Cookies on a Health Blog?

Again I must apologize for the less-than-professional picture. I had to take one before these disappear altogether. So my son loves the show "Cake Boss." He is aspiring to be a baker one day and own his own baker. Mind you he is only 6! So he has been begging me to teach him how to decorate cakes. We decided to make cookies instead and these are the remainder of a very messy endeavor with the kids. It was a great time in the kitchen. Call it Home Economics for the homeschooler. We had a blast and they turned out great. The kids were pretty proud of themselves.

I would have to say this would normally be a huge temptation for me. I have always loved sweets. The more elaborate the cookie, the bigger the temptation. To be completely honest, it didn't cross my mind to ingest such a thing today. I was completely happy with my raw almonds. It is so encouraging to notice these changes in my body and in the things I crave. Tonight there was a smorgasbord of treats at our church service, but I didn't find myself having to fight off urges to eat them. I resorted to the nuts in my purse and a cup of chamomile tea. Tasted wonderful. Maybe this is a forever diet for me. I sure do enjoy food more. Looking forward to all the new foods I am going to try. Someday I will allow myself a treat once in awhile, but for now better health is calling my name!
