Coffee Substitute

I crave the taste of coffee. It was a staple of my daily routine up until a few weeks ago. I miss the flavor alot. I loved waking up to a hot cup of coffee. It brightened my day...or atleast made me feel more awake. I now realize that the awake feeling I got from coffee was not a good thing. It was a false sense of energy. It was harming my health, hence the need to for and more of it. I quit cold turkey. At first I didn't miss it simply because I knew it was not good for me. As of lately I have begun to crave it again. I found a recipe for a pretty close substitute. This one detoxifies and helps clean out your liver. Health benefits are always a plus.

I used one dandelion tea bag. Steep in 8 oz of hot water for about 3 minutes. Add almond milk and a dash of stevia powder. It tastes pretty close to coffee. I like it and it feels like I am drinking my standard cup of coffee in the morning. Eventually I will add some flavorings as well, but for now this is a nice treat. Give it a try!
